The next story is one reason Crazy Cat Sanctuary and Black Cat Rescue exist
Hi, my name is Ms. Boots. I am grateful for a team effort between a sweet lady named Monica Webb and Crazy Cat Sanctuary. Black Cat Rescue also played a crucial role. Without them, I would not be here telling this story. My humans can only speculate about what happened to me before Ms. Monica found me at Meade County Animal Control, but it was not pleasant. I did not show any signs of physical abuse. Still, my reaction to them showed I had been beaten. I also showed signs of verbal abuse by my reaction to loud voices.
When Ms. Monica found me, I was huddled in the back of a cage at the Animal Control facility. I was classified as not being adoptable because I would not come near the cage for any reason. She saw me and took me home with her. For the next two months, I was a scared little kitty hiding behind her washer and dryer. Sometimes, I stayed out in the back corners of her garage. This was no life for a little kitty. Ms. Monica was not sure why I was beaten and yelled at. She suspected it was something I could help with. I would leave little messes wherever I was, but she was not sure why,
Ms. Monica communicated with the humans at a sanctuary for kitties. These kitties are abused or neglected. She told them about me. The human I now call Daddy, Mark, said Let’s meet and see about getting this little girl down to CSBCR. Sister Dorothy, Daddy, and Ms. Monica met at Subway in Elizabethtown, Ky, and Ms. Monica introduced them to me; I was once again a scared little kitty in the back of a cage. When we arrived at my new home at the Sanctuary, I met a couple of therapists. They would help me through the first part of my healing. Meanwhile, the humans explored my primary problem of leaving little messes. The therapists are a brother-sister team, Tiger Man and Tiger Tye. Once I got out of my travel cage, I looked for a place to hide. I found a washer and dryer, reminiscent of Ms. Monica. These humans took it in stride. They made sure I always had fresh food and water. They placed it at the front of the washer and dryer. They also ensured a kitty box was close by. Tiger Man and Tiger Tye visited me regularly. They worked with me on my emotional issues. At the same time, the humans talked to Dr. Mike at Animal Clinic in Greensburg, Kentucky. The big issue they figured out was that I am grain intolerant. I can’t digest the grains used in cat food, wet or dry. I was tested on some Rachel Ray’s Nutrish, which is grain-free. My little messes stopped. What was nice, though, was that during all this, I was treated like a sweet little kitty. I felt like a small problem and was given lots of love. Today I eat Nutrish, Health Extension, and Meow Mix. I also enjoy Abound Wet Food. Blue Buffalo wet food is a holiday treat for Catmas. I start my day with a bowl full of kibble. I also have a little sliver of Abound Wet Food. There is no fish because I am allergic to it. Then lunch and supper are kibbles. No more little messes. Oh, and no dairy, i.e., milk, yogurt, cheese, etc, for me either. Instead, I get Coconut Milk Creamers. My favorite is Sweet Cream Coconut Milk Creamer. I get it while the other cats get half-and-half as you use in coffee or goat’s Milk.
In the Spring of 2018, my next trial came about, but thankfully, Dr. Mike told my humans I just had an inner ear infection, and we got it treated. I did have some ongoing health issues related to it, though. If you look at my picture, you will see I lean. My head is cocked at an odd angle. That is the result of the infection. It scared me for a while, but one of the other cats. Mr. Goldberg had gone through this issue, and he is still one crafty, loving cat. They helped me through my problems and showed me I can still be myself. Thanks to some ramps Daddy had put in, Goldberg was capable of entering and out of the house. He also reached the ground from the deck. A lot of us still use these ramps today. “Thanks, Dad.” “You’re Welcome, Ms. Boots.” Well, I have now been at CCSBCR for a couple of years. Now I am not that scared little kitty hiding behind the washer and dryer. I am all a cat who knows what she wants and who she wants it from. You will not see me if you come to visit. Be sure you know I see you. I will be sizing you up. My Fur-Ever Home? The Sanctuary, of course. (Our First Foster Fail)

Now, for breakfast. “Sister, you did not do this right. It’s supposed to be a quarter cup of Nutrish. You need to add a sliver of Abound Wet Food. You forgot the sliver AGAIN!!!”
“Sorry, Ms. Boots, I will get it right now, ma’am.”
Humans always have to keep an eye on me.”
“Here you go, Ms. Boots, your Sliver.”
“Thank You, Sister.”
And that’s my story.
Sincerely, Ms. Boots.
