Even in the moments of chaos, there is love and life.
When your household is a beautiful blend of a spiritual calling and a clowder of feline companions (46), starting the day with intentionality is essential. This routine explores the delicate balance of tending to the immediate, vocal needs of your cats while nurturing the quiet, soulful requirements of your morning devotional.
Typically, the morning begins not with the chime of an alarm, but with a persistent “quality control team” checkβsometimes a cold nose or a vocal reminder from a kitten that the sanctuary is officially awake. Mostly a Tiger Man launching off the dresser onto my stomach. As the cats “help” with your daily devotional by claiming your lap, chest, legs, or head, or by glaring at you from your open Bible, these moments become a living illustration of God’s grace. Even amidst the joyful chaos of breakfast prep and unexpected room rearrangements, there is a profound peace in recognizing how these small creatures shape our hearts and our journeys. It is a sacred time to offer thanks for the unconditional love and second chances that define both the rescue life and our Christian walk.
Even when you want to harm them as they break your favorite mug, spill hot coffee on you, or create other disasters.
God has truly created angels without wings when he created the cat. Even in the moments of chaos, there is love and life.
